All about lightsaber sport
Lightsaber sport as we know it developed slowly from the late 2000's, until manufacturers were able to offer safe and cost-effective lightsabers to the public around 2016.
In 2018, the French Fencing Federation (FFE) released a set of guidelines for people wishing to compete in lightsaber sport. While other guidelines existed already, the appeal to us was that these were developed and ratified by one of the most experienced swordplay organisations in the world, in strong union with USA-based professional special interest groups.
The upshot of this is that Mos Eisley Swords Club was founded in Perth in 2019 by a group of committed individuals who understood the direction that the FFE were moving in, and have continued to respect and innovate towards the same aims for 5 years and counting.

About Mos Eisley Swords Club
Following the introduction of the ASL-FFE lightsaber combat guidelines to the world, Mos Eisley Swords Club came into being in late 2019 at Edward Millen Park in EVP. After a few months of al fresco lightsaber combat, MESC was forced underground by COVID-19, but emerged again in 2020 at Perron Place in Victoria Park, unscathed and ready to expand!
Mos Eisley Swords Club was named by founder Coach David as a portmanteau of Mos Eisley Spaceport (a sandy, hot and isolated settlement just like Perth WA) and Westlake Swords Club, where Coach David trained from 12 yo under Grand Master M Sharfe RIP.
Since 2020 we have offered a range of programs and services to the Force-inclined in Perth, from individual combat to choreographed performances, ladies-only groups, programs for kids, birthday parties, corporate events and everything in between! Want to know more? Check our program page!
